Discouraged? Flip to Enthusiasm!

A Bizar Financing™ Pro member recently expressed frustration after encountering several setbacks. I offered encouragement and advice. It flipped his discouragement to enthusiasm. "You were right," he said. "The discouragement was temporary. It took some time to overcome, but I gained valuable experience and will continue to apply your advice moving forward.” Here is the advice I gave him:

We all meet challenges that at times seem unrelenting. If they persist long enough, they can easily result in discouragement. The best answer I know is a change of mindset and environment.

Create some mental space, relax, breathe deeply, let go of fixed beliefs, reassess yourself and your goals, ask yourself, what has worked for me in the past, and what has not. Embrace those things that worked and expunge from your mind those things that have not.

Then seek:

  • Fresh ideas.
  • New methods.
  • New companions.
  • New projects.
  • New mindset.
  • New routines.
  • New discipline.

Whatever you do, do not live in the past. Have faith that a positive future awaits you. You are the end product of a billion years of evolution. There is an unbroken billion year chain of  life that has resulted in you. During that billion years, the challenges that faced each succeeding generation are beyond anything you can envision. That lineage of success did not become you so that you could fail now. Your discouragement is a fleeting experience in the eons of time. That simple fact alone should provide you with unwavering confidence that this too shall come to pass and that you too shall prevail.
